The Crucial First Year
In the developing world, mothers and babies living in poverty face a crippling set of challenges. From pregnancy through the crucial first year of life, they must deal with threats such as waterborne illnesses, a lack of nutritious food and limited or no medical care. Thanks to churches like yours, Compassion’s Survival initiatives are tackling these issues, giving vulnerable babies the best possible opportunity to reach their first birthday and go on to have a healthy, happy childhood.
In recent years, a global, focused aid effort has encouragingly reduced child and maternal mortality rates. But the need remains critical, especially in the countries where Compassion works.
A Proven Record of Success
For nearly 20 years, Compassion’s church-based survival initiatives have been saving lives and helping babies thrive. Today, with the help of your church, Compassion supports more than 24,000 babies and their mothers at nearly 1,900 local church partners.
